Artist's Comments

DeviantArt Avatar. File works with every version of Photoshop. (Elements 1.0, 2.0 Photoshop 5,6,7,CS)
Very simple :D
>Download
>Add whatever
>Save as GIF

:bulletred: Repeat, you must have some version of Photoshop to do this. Tryouts can be found here: [link]

Much like the Batty avatars; "Shiny" avatars seem to be multiplying like wild !
I have noticed many avatars aren't up to par with others and I'm hoping this will level the playing field.
I don't know who made them first (I would like to know) but I decided to make DeviantArt a more beautiful place. :D

Ok, you got me. :D There is no "real" tutorial here, it was going to include one be but there was too much guesswork involved. Furthermore I hate having to -unzip files, find a directory, unzip to that directory, find that directory again, yadda....
-As for where your image goes, it goes on the bottom layer. Thats it one simplified simple step .
-If you really want to know more of the raw mouse movements that I did to achieve this effect send me a note.

Alternatively, you can use the CSS page that devART uses, and get the hex for the color from there.

I think its: C1CBC1 or A4ADA4 or 7b887f (The last one looks more promising.)

Next time there is a maintainace page, look at its CSS.
The page's background color should be coded near the top.

:)

By the way, thanks for creating this.

Awesome work!

It all depends on what you use as a DeviantART skin. I use Dev 2 and it matches the dev2 background but not anything else. The only way I can get the fish bowl to match every thing is to make it transparent but then the bowl is opaque as a gif and not transparent. At least not the way it is now where it does match my skin.

The background color for the darker bands in Dev2 is RGB 115,130,120 or hex 738278

It seems like a big pain in the ass but if ya go and switch to Dev 2 in settings real fast you can see it as a shiny globe where it matches. LOL. Then switch back to the minimal skin.

I really do miss it where every thing was the same. Then ya didn't look like an idiot. I mean there were 4 skins there for a while. There was Dev1, Dav2, Dev3 and Min. it was imposable to really get a matching color scheme.

Any way ya’ll have a grate day,

Lucky13
